What customers say?

“ Wow! What a great food! My husband and I came out of state and found this gem. We had mixed meats; lamb, beef and chicken kebabs, rice and naan bread. Everything was out of this world! The meat is tender with great spices. The rice is delicious, and the bread has its own story… We took one to go for the road lol. Soooo good! The service is amazing. The young man working was kind, knowledgeable about the menu (owners son) and very, very polite. The atmosphere is great. The place is clean and inviting. They used to have a restaurant connected to the store, now they moved the restaurant to Maple St. It really shows Afgan culture and hospitality. Any time we get back to Omaha, we will come back! We also had Ferni (custard dessert) and it was great! 10/10 recommend! ”

“ The Mantu appetizer was flavorful. Overall, we tried the Dopyeza (probably our favorite), Chicken Kabob, Shami Kabob, and Chapli Kabob. All had great spice (although not hot spicy) and the portions were plentiful. We also tried the Yogurt Drink (Lassi/Doogh) and that has a very... um, special taste but not one we need to experience again. ”

“ Delicious made-to-order food! We’ve been a few times and every time it is incredible. I would eat a plate of this rice alone, but the okra and the combo (chicken, lamb, and kabob) are what dreams are made of! Amazing service as well! Try the green tea if you’re a warm tea fan, it’s great! ”

“ Excellent food!!! It was our first time there and we absolutely will go back again and again. We used to go to Lincoln whenever we crave such authentic food. Finally, we found a restaurant in Omaha that makes delicious, authentic and outstanding kababs and lambs. We tried the Mantu and was perfectly cooked. As other reviewers stated, the rice was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The most important thing, everything is FRESHLY made, which is a quality not found in many other middle eastern and asian restaurants in Omaha, Masha’allah. ”

“ Authentic Afghan cuisine! It took me back again. The food was absolutely amazing and exactly what I remember. The buffet was worth every penny. Come out and enjoy the restaurant before it goes away! Omaha is losing a treasure! ”

“ Note: the menu link on google is not to this place. I have a nut allergy and they took very good care of me. Amazing food. We started off with Shir-chai (milk teal this was sweet and creamy, rich, black tea. Their dumplings Mantu were meaty but still light. Very tasty and usual. For the mains we shared a mix kabob combo and Dopyeza. The meat was tender and seasoned amazingly. The Dopyesa had the out tender delish hunks of lamb. This was all plenty of food for 4 people with the large portion sizes. I can't wait to try everything else! ”

“ This place is hard to find if navigating using Waze. That said, you've got to find them if you're on the prowl for something off the beaten path. Small place with seating for maybe 20. My impression is they do a strong carry-out business and dine-in happens. I had a mixed grill. Menu description didn't really match the plate of food that arrived but I didn't care because everything was so delicious. Big, bold flavors, fire, meat, yum! No alcohol but that's not a surprise given the culture. Run, don't walk, to try them out! ”

“ Service: very good. The food takes a while but it is quite fresh. Food: Chapuli kabob is a spicier/aromatic crispy burger shaped kebab. Tasted good. Borani Banjan is an oily/savory/salty eggplant covered in a tangy aromatic yogurt sauce. Absolutely incredible item. 100% anyone who hasn't had it should order it. Tastes wonderful. Rice: A very moist basmatic variant. I suspect they use some ghee with it. I liked it but folks who prefer more plain rice might not. Naan: A more rustic/less decadent Naan than what Indian places make. If choosing Naan vs Rice, rice is straight up more flavorful. ”
